Save Table as Attachment
Choose whether your table data is saved as a page attachment in Confluence. For small tables, you can manually enable this option; for large tables, Simple Tables will save it automatically to ensure performance and archiving.
How it works
- Check the box next to the “Save table data as attachment” option.
- If the table is small, it’s saved as an attachment only when this option is checked.
- If the table is large, Simple Tables automatically saves it as an attachment even if unchecked, to avoid performance issues.
- Click Save to apply your attachment settings.
Why it matters
Attaching table data allows you to download the complete dataset easily, archive reports, or link elsewhere. It improves performance for large tables and ensures data is preserved even if the page content changes.
Compliance Officer
Acme Co — Risk & Audit
Context and challenge:
Risk & audit teams need a verifiable record of monthly access logs. Simply viewing in Confluence isn’t enough—auditors require downloadable CSVs for archiving and external review.
Solution – Save table data as attachment:
Enabling the “Save table data as attachment” checkbox causes Simple Tables to automatically attach a CSV export each time the report is generated. The latest CSV sits on the Confluence page alongside the live table.
Benefits:
• Audit readiness: CSV attachments provide a timestamped, downloadable record for compliance reviews.
• Automated archiving: No manual exports—the system retains each month’s file.
• Easy sharing: Forward or import the CSV to other tools without reformatting.
• Traceability: Confluence attachment history logs every update, offering an audit trail.
Impact:
With automated CSV attachments, the audit team eliminated manual export steps, reducing report-prep time by 70% and ensuring full compliance documentation for every review cycle.
