Save Table as Attachment
Control whether your table data is stored as a Confluence page attachment. This helps with performance, data portability, and long-term traceability.
How it works
- Enable the Save table data as attachment option.
- For small tables, data is saved as an attachment only when this option is enabled.
- For large tables, Simple Tables automatically saves the data as an attachment—even if the option is disabled—to ensure performance and stability.
- Click Save to apply your settings.
Why it matters
Saving table data as an attachment allows you to download the full dataset, share it externally, and maintain a historical record. It also improves performance for larger datasets by offloading storage from the page content.
All data remains within Atlassian infrastructure, aligned with Forge’s no data egress model.
Compliance Officer
Acme Co — Risk & Audit
Context and challenge:
Risk and audit teams need reliable, downloadable records of activity logs. Viewing data in Confluence is not always sufficient—auditors often require exportable files for external validation.
Solution – Save table data as attachment:
By enabling this option, Simple Tables generates and attaches a CSV file alongside the table. This creates a downloadable version of the dataset directly on the page.
Benefits:
• Audit readiness: Exportable CSV files for compliance reviews.
• Built-in history: Confluence tracks attachment versions over time.
• Easy sharing: Files can be reused in other tools or workflows.
• Reliable storage: Data remains accessible even as the page evolves.
Impact:
Teams can move from manual exports to a more consistent and traceable workflow when handling audit-related datasets.
