Table Search

Add a built-in search bar to your table to filter rows instantly. Simple Tables lets you type keywords and display only the matching rows—no page reload needed.

How it works

  1. Edit the table macro or import dialog.
  2. Toggle on Enable search bar.
  3. Save or publish the page—your table now has a search input at the top.

As users type, the table filters in real time, showing only rows that contain the search term anywhere. This works across all columns.

Why it matters

Filtering makes a big difference in tables with many rows—no need to scroll endlessly. Users can quickly find specific entries by typing a few letters.

Use case: Filter support tickets

Support Agent

Acme Co — Customer Support

Context and challenge:
The support queue often grows to hundreds of tickets. Manually scanning each row for keywords is slow, and critical issues can slip through unnoticed.

Solution – Keyword filtering:
Agents enter search terms (e.g. “payment,” “urgent,” “bug”) directly into Confluence’s filter bar. The table instantly narrows to matching rows, exposing only the tickets that matter right now.

Benefits:
Laser focus: View only the tickets relevant to your current task or priority.
Time savings: No need to scroll endlessly—find what you need in seconds.
Reduced errors: Eliminates manual misses when dozens of rows look similar.
Custom workflows: Combine multiple keywords or column filters to zero in on specific customers, tags, or dates.

Impact:
Filtering has cut average ticket-triage time by 40 %, enabling agents to resolve high-impact cases faster and maintain SLA compliance even under heavy load.
