Layout and spacing

Control the overall look and feel of your table by choosing between different layout and spacing presets. Whether you want a compact, data-dense table or a comfortable, easy-to-read layout, the Layout and spacing options help you present data in the way that works best for your audience.

How to use

  1. Open the Themes tab in the table setup panel.
  2. Select Layout and spacing from the list of available theme controls.
  3. Choose one of the preset styles:
    • Default – Balanced spacing for general use.
    • Compact – Maximum data density for large datasets.
    • Comfortable – Extra spacing for easier reading.
    • Striped – Alternating row colors for better visual separation.
  4. Preview the change in real time and click Submit to apply.

These settings are purely visual — they won’t affect the data itself, but can greatly improve readability and the overall presentation of your table.

When to use each layout

  • Default – Best for balanced content where both clarity and space matter.
  • Compact – Ideal for operational dashboards or datasets with many rows.
  • Comfortable – Perfect for presentations or when table readability is a priority.
  • Striped – Helps the eye follow across wide tables or long lists.

Hikari Solutions — PMO Department

Context and goal:
The PMO team manages a master table with hundreds of ongoing tasks across multiple projects. Screen space is limited, and scrolling impacts efficiency.

Solution:
They switch the table’s layout to Compact mode, reducing vertical spacing and fitting more rows on the screen without changing the actual data.

Impact:
Team members can now view 40% more rows at a glance, improving decision-making speed and reducing the need for constant scrolling.

Adjusting layout and spacing is a quick way to make your table fit the context — whether it's a dense data review, a client presentation, or an internal dashboard.
