Table colors
Table colors are global formatting settings for the whole table. They live in Formatting > Table colors and use compact preset palettes, so editors can adjust the table without managing a large set of advanced color options.
Quick guide
- Open the Formatting tab in the table setup panel.
- Find Table colors.
- Choose colors for the table areas you want to adjust.
- Use Reset colors to return the table to its inherited theme colors.
- Preview the result and click Save.
Tip: These colors affect table-level formatting. Per-column colors are configured separately in Columns > Display > Column colors.
Table colors
The first group controls the main table surface: header, body rows, and grid lines.
| Control | Description |
|---|---|
| Header | Color behind column names. |
| Odd rows | Primary body row background. |
| Even rows | Alternate body row background. |
| Borders | Table grid line color. |
Summary rows
Summary row colors are also configured in Formatting > Table colors. They are optional and only affect rows created by grouping or footer totals.
| Control | Description |
|---|---|
| Group rows | Rows created when grouping is enabled. |
| Totals row | Footer row with calculated values. |
How table colors differ from column colors
Table colors are broad formatting choices for the table structure. Column colors are configured per field and are used when one column needs a specific background or text color.
- Use Table colors for header, row, border, group row, and totals row colors.
- Use Column colors for a specific column background or text color.
- If you want a simple visual theme, start with table colors before adding column-specific overrides.
Best practice: Keep global table colors subtle. Use stronger colors for summary rows or selected columns only when they carry meaning.
