Confluence Content

Use Confluence Content to build a live Simple Table from content already stored in your Confluence site. Choose what to search for, select the fields that matter, and use the normal Simple Table controls on the result.

This source searches across Confluence and creates a table from the returned content. For a table that already exists on one page, use Native Confluence tables instead.

Create a live content table

  1. Insert a Simple Table macro or edit an existing one.
  2. Choose Integrations, then select Confluence Content.
  3. Set the search scope and select Find content. The default result limit is 50; use the selector to choose 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, or 1000 results.
  4. Choose the columns to include, continue to table setup, and publish the page.

Basic mode

Use the Basic tab for the common search controls:

  • Page: choose the Confluence content type. The menu also supports Blog Post, Attachment, Comment, Folder, Whiteboard, Database, and Embed.
  • Space: select a space or leave it empty to search across spaces you can access.
  • Label (optional): select one or more labels to narrow the result.

CQL mode

Switch to CQL when Basic mode does not express the scope you need. For example:

type=page AND space=ENG AND text~"release"

CQL can target additional fields such as title, creator, ancestor, macro, file extension, page status, or creation and modification dates. The preview shows returned rows before you continue, so you can refine the scope before configuring the table.

Choose columns and keep the table current

After the search returns results, select the fields to display. They become ordinary Simple Table columns, so you can sort, search, filter, group, format, export, or use them in calculated columns.

The macro runs its saved Confluence search when it loads. Changes to matching content are reflected the next time the table loads; you do not need to recreate the table for changed values. The result limit controls how many matching items are requested for the table.

Permissions and data handling

Confluence Content respects the permissions available to the person viewing the table. Keep the search scope focused on content your intended viewers can access. Data is processed within Atlassian through Forge; see No data egress for the data-handling model.
