STORAGE & PRIVACY

Data residency

Where Metadata's Atlassian-hosted app data is located.

Hosted with the Confluence site

Simple Metadata stores schemas, metadata, indexes and history in Forge-hosted storage for the app installation. Forge-hosted storage follows the data residency location of the host Atlassian site. Metadata does not offer a separate region selector.

What the page contains

The Confluence page holds the capture or report macro and its configuration. The metadata values themselves live in the app's Forge storage, associated with the page and schema. This means metadata values are not embedded in the page content.

Exports leave the app when you download them

An administrator can export a JSON or YAML package containing schemas, metadata and history. The downloaded copy is then governed by where your organization stores and shares that file, outside the app's Forge storage.
