FIELD TYPES

Text fields

v2.1.0+

Collect names, identifiers and free-form notes.

When to use it

Use Text for a name, short identifier, description or comment. The captured value is a string.

Configure the field

Set Minimum characters and Maximum characters when length matters. Custom format accepts a regular expression for values such as a reference code. A static default can prefill the form.

Example

See how this field can appear in a real schema.

  • Control IDCode such as CTRL-104, checked with a custom format
    Text
  • DescriptionFree-form notes without a custom format
    Text

Important behaviour

Only Text exposes character limits and Custom format. Use Email or URL when you need those dedicated formats.
