STORAGE & PRIVACY

Retention and deletion

How active metadata, earlier versions and app data are retained.

Active metadata

Current schemas and metadata remain in Atlassian-hosted Forge storage while the app is installed, unless an administrator deletes them. The 90-day limit below applies only to earlier saved versions, not to current metadata.

Earlier versions

When metadata is updated, its previous value is saved as a Forge KVS snapshot for up to 90 days. This version history is separate from the current metadata.

Deleting data

Deleting metadata removes its live data and attempts to remove retained snapshots. If history cleanup fails, snapshots may remain until their expiry. Deleting a schema schedules cleanup of its metadata and history; follow the job in Processes.

After uninstalling the app

Atlassian manages the retention and deletion of the app's Forge-hosted data under its data lifecycle policy after uninstall. Simpleasyty does not operate a separate database holding the metadata.

Copies outside the app

Deleting metadata does not remove JSON or YAML files already downloaded from the app. Package import creates schemas only; it cannot restore exported metadata or history. Manage downloaded copies under your organization's retention rules.
