CONFIGURE COLUMNS

Reorder columns

Put the information readers need first by changing the order of columns in the Simple Table macro.

Change the column order

Drag columns in the editor and check the result before saving.

  1. 1

    Open Columns

Edit the Simple Table macro and select the Columns tab.

  2. 2

    Drag the column

Grab the six-dot handle beside the column name and move it up or down the list.

  3. 3

    Check and save

Check the new left-to-right order in the preview, then save the macro.

See the difference

A team wants to see status and ownership before internal identifiers.

Before

  1. 1Customer ID
  2. 2Notes
  3. 3Status
  4. 4Next review
  5. 5Owner

After

  1. 1Status
  2. 2Next review
  3. 3Owner
  4. 4Customer ID
  5. 5Notes

When the list is long

Only one column settings panel opens at a time. If you scroll through an open panel, its column row stays visible at the top of that panel, including the drag handle. You can still move the column without losing track of which one you are editing.

What changes

Reordering changes the column layout in this table. The source rows, column values, data types and calculations stay the same.

For a Simple Table with Body built from a native Confluence table, the column order may still look unchanged while you edit the page. Confluence shows the editable source table there. Check the Simple Tables preview or the published page to see the saved order.
