Download as CSV or Excel
Let readers take a useful table snapshot beyond Confluence. Enable CSV for lightweight exchange, XLSX for spreadsheet workflows, or both when teams need a choice.

Prepare the right file for the handoff
Enable only the formats the workflow needs. Before downloading, readers can prepare a focused view with filters and visible columns.
Open Display settings
Edit the macro and open Display in table setup.
Choose the export formats
In Viewer actions, enable Download as CSV, Download as XLSX, or both. They are separate switches, so you can expose only the format your workflow needs.
Save or publish
After saving the macro, the selected CSV and XLSX buttons appear in the table toolbar for readers.
Prepare the view, then download
Apply filters before downloading when the recipient needs a focused subset. The export contains the visible columns and the rows that pass the active filter.
Example: hand off a product list
A product team keeps SKUs, descriptions, owners, and pricing in a Confluence table.
- For simple data exchange
- Download CSV when a team or another system needs a lightweight, portable table. It fits imports, automation, and compatible tools that do not need an Excel workbook.
- For spreadsheet review
- Use XLSX when recipients want to inspect, sort, or continue analysing the data in Excel or a compatible tool. The file is ready for a spreadsheet-oriented workflow.
- For a focused handoff
- Filter by product line, status, or date range first, then check the visible columns. The download contains every row that passes the active filter, not only the current pagination page.
- Result
- The recipient gets a clear snapshot for the next step of the workflow. Export changes neither the source data nor the table in Confluence, and it does not create a live connection back to the page.
