Find the right row directly in Confluence. Search checks every visible column at once and answers questions as they arise, without changing the saved table view.

What you can do with search right away
Search is for questions that appear while people work: find a customer, narrow a topic, or open the right entry inside a prepared view.
- Find a customer or issue
- Search a name, ID, domain, or keyword. One query checks every visible column.
- Investigate a topic in a long report
- Enter payment, outage, or renewal to keep only rows where that topic appears in the visible context.
- Search inside a prepared view
- Apply a saved filter such as Status is Open in the background, then let readers search that result for a team, customer, or error message.
Fast, local, and without side effects
- Results update as you type.
- Search checks visible columns; hidden data does not enter the results.
- The query belongs to the current view and changes neither the source nor the saved macro configuration.
Example: triage support tickets
In a long ticket list, a support team can search for a topic while keeping its prepared working context.

Prepare the working view
Save a filter for open or urgent tickets and hide the Filter bar from readers.

Search for the topic
Readers search payment, urgent, or bug inside the already-filtered result.

Move to the next topic
Clear or replace the query. The source data and default view stay unchanged.
Make search available
Configuration is brief: enable the Filter bar once so readers can use Search in the published table.
Enable the Filter bar
- 1 Open the macro settings or import dialog.
- 2 Go to Display and enable Filter bar.
- 3 Choose Search as the default view, then save or publish the page.
Search the table
Enter a term in the bar above the table. Visible rows update as you type.
Search is local. It changes neither the data source nor the table's saved values.
