Save table data on the page
Store a table's source data as a Confluence page attachment when it should be managed alongside the page.

Save data as an attachment
Choose this when the source should remain with the page as a file rather than embedded directly in the macro configuration.
Set up the table
Import or paste the data, then review the preview and columns.
Enable Save as attachment
Turn on Save as attachment in the table setup footer.
Save and publish
Choose Save. Simple Tables creates a JSON attachment on the current page and points the macro to it.
When an attachment is a good fit
Choose an attachment for larger datasets, recurring reports, or when page owners and reviewers should be able to see the source file alongside the page.
What changes
A source that already uses an attachment continues to use its selected attachment. When data exceeds the inline storage limit, Simple Tables automatically uses an attachment even if you do not select the option yourself.
The storage location does not change table capabilities: sorting, filtering, grouping, and formatting continue to work with the same data.
The attachment follows the lifecycle, permissions, retention settings, and residency controls of the Confluence page. For sensitive or regulated data, apply your usual review process for pages and attachments.
